Decades and Centuries
A decade is a period of  10 years. We usually refer to a particular decade
because either we cannot remember the exact year, or there were many years that
shared something in common. The 1980s is a decade, which include all the years
from 1980 to 1989.
A century is a period of 100 years. Most people
refer to the years 1900 to 1999 as the twentieth century. In particular, the
twentieth century was noted for its two word wars.
