1. Match the signs a-c with the meaning below.

Grammar:  have to and don’t have to
1. We use have to when it is necessary or obligatory to do something.
You have to drive on the left in Britain.
2. We use don’t have to  when it is not necessary to do something, but you can if you want.
You don’t have to come to the party if you don’t want to.
Remember: When it is not okay or it is prohibited to do something we use can’t.
You can’t smoke in the classroom. NOT: You don’t have to smoke in the classroom.

We use can when it is okay to do something.

We use can’t  when we it is not okay or it is prohibited to do something.
